About The Lake George Mom Prom...
In 2013 a few local Lake George High School friends attended another Mom Prom and decided to bring the event to their own town. It was a huge success and in 2014 for the first inaugural prom event, we raised $11,000.00 for Cindy's Comfort Camp for Kids and Uniquely You Boutique and Salon!! Above is the presentation of the check to Vickie Yattaw at the
CR Wood Cancer Center.
In 2015 we raised $7,000.00 for Upstate New York Autism Alliance and Randy's Patient Assistance Fund.
In 2016 we raised $8,000.00 for The Wait House, The Ben Osborn Memorial Fund and The Pumpkin Fund.
In 2017 we raised $4,700.00 for The Mom Prom Help Fund, Victim Advocacy Services and the Lake George Association Floating Classroom.
In 2018 we raised $4,300.00! for The Mom Prom Help Fund, Glens Falls Holiday Food Drive, Amanda's House at Glens Falls Hospital, FACT Animal Rescue and John Cocozza-Hill.
The first two years, the ladies were assisted by DJ Mark Brenneisen of Adirondack-Albany Wedding Association and Total Entertainment, who also provided hosting of the event, along with DJs Mike Reilly of CT Productions Mobile DJ Service and DJ Shannon Bushey of Digital DJ in Vermont. All three are current members of the non-profit Adirondack-Albany Chapter of The American Disc Jockey Association, committed to charitable causes and education in the wedding and events industry for all regional professionals. In 2016 and 2017, chapter officer DJ Caroline from Upbeat Occasions also donated her services. In 2018 we were also joined by Chapter member Todd Moffre of Party With Todd.
After the 2015 event, the ladies decided they wanted to step aside and let someone else continue the good traditions of the Mom Prom in our area. The Chapter officers voted to assume the duties of producing and hosting the Lake George Mom Prom. Over 15 regional DJ companies working together to bring you an all new and exciting Mom Prom experience! To this gain, in 2018 at our national meeting in Chicago, the local ADJA chapter was awarded the Michael Butler Humanitarian Award for efforts. DJs Mark, Mike and Caroline we're on hand to accept.
